Mestrio Teleprompter Terms of Service

Thank you for using Mestrio Teleprompter (Android package com.mestrio.teleprompter, the “App”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and the individual developer and operator, Robin Wang (“we,” “us,” or “our”), governing download, installation, and use of the App.

By downloading, installing, launching, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these Terms and the Mestrio Teleprompter Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. The Service

The App is a tool for creating, editing, importing, displaying, and speech-following teleprompter scripts. Current features may include:

The current version does not provide an account, script cloud sync, or cloud backup. Features may vary by version, device, operating system, region, network, permission, quota, and third-party availability. A feature marked experimental, coming soon, or unavailable is not a promise of availability.

2. Eligibility

You must have legal capacity to agree to these Terms. A minor must use the App with consent and guidance from a parent or guardian, especially before importing content, enabling microphone or overlay access, using AI, or publicly reading or publishing content.

The App currently does not require a Mestrio account. You are responsible for protecting your device, app data, exported files, and scripts that may contain sensitive information.

3. Limited License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to lawfully use the App on compatible Android devices.

Except where applicable law expressly permits, you may not:

Nothing here limits rights granted under an applicable open-source license. Open-source components and speech models included or downloaded by the App remain subject to their respective licenses.

4. Your Content

“Your Content” includes topics, key points, scripts, files, and related material that you enter, import, edit, generate, display, read, export, or share. You retain the rights you lawfully hold in your original content.

You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed for Your Content and are responsible for its legality, accuracy, backup, disclosure, and consequences. You may not use the App to process or distribute content that:

The App processes Your Content as needed for local features. Only when you request AI generation is relevant input and output transmitted to the Mestrio AI service, Cloudflare, and Google Gemini as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not acquire ownership of your scripts by providing the App.

5. AI Generation

AI output is an editable draft, not a guarantee of fact, professional advice, or publication readiness. It may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, repetitive, biased, culturally inappropriate, or unexpectedly similar to third-party material.

You must review AI output before saving, reading, publishing, commercializing, or relying on it. You are responsible for fact-checking, citations, rights, compliance, language, and suitability. Do not use AI output as the sole basis for medical, legal, financial, safety, emergency, or other high-risk decisions.

AI use may be subject to quotas, rate limits, content-safety rules, and provider terms. We may reject, limit, or suspend requests to control cost, prevent abuse, or comply with law. We do not guarantee continued access to a particular model, language, output length, style, or response time.

6. Speech Follow and Models

Speech follow is an assistive feature and does not guarantee word-perfect recognition. Results depend on accent, language model, speaking speed, noise, microphone, device performance, and differences between speech and script. Test before a recording, presentation, or broadcast and keep manual scrolling or another fallback available.

Speech models may come from third-party open-source projects or hosts and remain subject to separate licenses, model cards, and restrictions. Model size, performance, language coverage, and availability may change. You are responsible for lawful use under the applicable license.

The App does not record or upload microphone audio merely because speech follow is enabled. Other apps, system services, or connected hardware may have their own processing behavior.

7. Files, Overlays, and Permissions

Import only files you have a right to read and use. Parsing may be incomplete because of encoding, formatting, corruption, or unsupported structures. Keep backups of important original files and scripts.

The floating panel appears over other apps and may obscure controls, notices, or security prompts. Do not use it where it interferes with driving, traffic, safety-critical operation, payment, authentication, or emergency information. Disable overlay access when you no longer need it.

You may refuse or revoke microphone, file, and overlay access, but the corresponding feature may stop working. You may not use the App for covert listening, interface deception, credential capture, or interference with another app.

8. Third-Party Services

The App may connect to Cloudflare Workers, Google Gemini, Google Firebase, GitHub Releases, Mestrio resource hosting, and Android system services. Each provider's privacy policy, terms, license, quota, regional restriction, and content rules apply.

We do not control a third party and do not guarantee that its service is continuously available, secure, error-free, lawful, or suitable for you. Outages, API changes, policy changes, network restrictions, or provider action may interrupt a feature. Review the applicable rules before use.

9. Purchases, Subscriptions, and Refunds

The current version does not yet offer a paid subscription or in-app purchase. Before introducing one, we should update these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and purchase disclosures in the App.

Future products sold through Google Play or another app store will also be governed by the price, tax, trial, auto-renewal, cancellation, refund, and payment-dispute terms shown at purchase, the store rules, and applicable law. Uninstalling an app does not normally cancel a subscription.

10. Local Data and Backups

Scripts, resources, reading state, settings, and speech models are mainly stored on your device. We do not provide server backup and ordinarily cannot inspect, restore, or remotely delete them. Device failure, low storage, clearing data, uninstalling, system updates, permission changes, defects, or user error may cause data loss.

You are responsible for separate backups of important scripts and original documents. Local deletion may be irreversible. Successful AI generation does not mean a draft has been saved; you must save it from the editor.

11. Feedback and Support

You may send suggestions, questions, or bug reports to robinxdroid@gmail.com. Do not include passwords, access tokens, complete sensitive scripts, or unnecessary personal information.

Unless we agree otherwise in writing, you grant us a royalty-free license to use, analyze, and implement feedback without identifying you for product improvement. We do not promise a response time, particular fix, or roadmap.

12. Updates, Changes, and Discontinuation

We may release updates to fix defects, improve security, support system changes, or adjust features. Refusing a necessary update may make a feature unavailable. We may also limit, replace, or discontinue a feature for security, cost, provider requirements, abuse, law, or product decisions.

We will provide reasonable notice of a material change to these Terms and update the date above. If you do not accept updated Terms, stop using the App.

13. Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” WE DISCLAIM EXPRESS, IMPLIED, AND STATUTORY WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, CONTINUED AVAILABILITY, ACCURACY, ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION, SECURITY, AND COMPATIBILITY WITH EVERY DEVICE OR THIRD PARTY.

In particular, we do not guarantee that:

14. Limitation of Liability and Indemnity

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFIT, REVENUE, GOODWILL, CONTENT, DATA, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, OR SUBSTITUTE SERVICES ARISING FROM USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for all claims relating to the App will not exceed the greater of: (A) the amount you actually paid us for the App in the twelve months before the event; or (B) CNY 100.

To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for and will hold us harmless from third-party claims, losses, or reasonable costs arising from Your Content, unlawful use, infringement, breach of these Terms, failure to review AI output, or failure to protect your device and data.

15. Termination

You may stop using and uninstall the App at any time. We may restrict or terminate related online functionality if you materially breach these Terms, abuse a network service, threaten security, or if law requires it.

After termination, your license ends. Provisions on intellectual property, content responsibility, disclaimers, liability, disputes, and those that by nature should survive remain effective.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

Unless mandatory law provides otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of mainland China. The parties should first attempt good-faith consultation; if unresolved, either may bring a claim in a court with jurisdiction.

If you use the App elsewhere, you are responsible for local compliance. Rights that local law does not permit you to waive remain unaffected.

17. Other Terms

These Terms and the Mestrio Teleprompter Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about the App. If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remainder remains effective. A delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver. You may not transfer these Terms without our written consent; we may transfer relevant rights and duties as part of a lawful business transfer.
